Prague, Czech Republic

Prague was a short stop and freezing cold, but full of charm. The Christmas markets were in full swing - mulled wine in hand, traditional Czech desserts, the smell of roasted chestnuts everywhere. It was the first time the trip had genuinely felt festive.

I did a day tour out to Kutná Hora, which was interesting in a morbid sort of way - the Sedlec Ossuary (a chapel decorated entirely with human bones) is one of those places that makes you question what qualifies as art. The guide George was a character who made the trip worthwhile.

The hostel had a great atmosphere and the breakfast was genuinely good. I had a haircut, did my washing (a glamorous life on the road), and met some good people over espresso at EMA. Prague felt like a city that deserved more time than I gave it.
