I’ll admit, I arrived in Paris with some fairly grounded expectations. Having spent the past month navigating the warmth of Iberia and Portugal, the shift to a colder, more formal city felt like a significant change.
But Paris won me over, and quickly. On my first full day I walked the Latin Quarter, bought a jacket I wasn’t entirely sure about, had a steak tartare lunch with a local I’d connected with through Lokafy, and then took what turned out to be one of the most memorable walks of my trip - from La Défense to the Arc de Triomphe, and finally to the Eiffel Tower. Something clicked that evening, and I started to fall in love with the city.
The next couple of days were just as rewarding. I spent a morning getting lost in the Louvre, explored the eerie depths of the Catacombs, and wandered through Montmartre past Sacré-Coeur and the Moulin Rouge. The view from Galeries Lafayette was worth the detour. Paris has a way of making you feel like every corner has something to offer, and by the time I left, I felt like I could’ve stayed another week.
